October has been another huge and memorable month for BMW Drivers Club Melbourne, filled with fantastic events, great company, and plenty to celebrate. Thank you to everyone who continues to support, attend, volunteer and help make this club the incredible community it is.

4 October – What Else Is In Your Garage? 

We kicked off the month with our always‑popular What Else Is In Your Garage event. It’s such a fun day seeing the variety of cars our members own besides their BMWs, always a great reminder of the passion and diversity within our club.

5 October – An Evening with Damon Hill 

The following night we enjoyed a brilliant evening with Damon Hill. What a privilege to hear from a Formula 1 World Champion, and what a turnout from our members. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make it such a memorable night.

One of our most important events of the year. We raised over $3,000 for breast cancer research, thanks to the generosity of our members, supporters and sponsors.

A huge thank you to Wurth Australia for donating the pressure washer that raised $600 in the silent auction. Thank you also to all our friends and supporters who donated hampers, vouchers and prizes, your kindness made the day truly special. And a very special thank you to Jo and her friend Pam, who walked the streets collecting donations. Their effort and dedication were extraordinary and deeply appreciated.

25 October – Oktoberfest  

We wrapped up the month with our Oktoberfest celebration, great food, great cars, great company and plenty of laughs. A perfect way to round out October.

28 October – Geelong Area Mid‑Week Twilight Drive  

Our Geelong area members enjoyed a relaxed twilight drive on the 28th, taking in some beautiful scenery and finishing with a great catch‑up. These regional drives continue to grow, and it’s wonderful to see the enthusiasm from our Geelong community

Personal Adventures – F1 & Bathurst 1000

Jo and I managed to squeeze in a personal trip to Kuala Lumpur for a week and to watch the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix at Sepang. It was a fantastic event, and we loved hearing from so many members who spotted us on TV during the rain‑delay session at the start, we certainly didn’t expect that! Certainly shows you can’t hide, even in a crowd. I can highly recommend the event and the location if it comes back on the F1 Calendar!

Barely home for a few hours, we were off again, straight to the Damon Hill event and then on to Bathurst, to officiate at the Bathurst 1000. A rushed couple of weeks, but absolutely worth it. We had a blast.

• 1 November – Point Nepean Heritage Motor Show
• 3 November – Melbourne Cup Drive
• 12 November – Annual General Meeting If you cannot attend, please send through your proxy vote so we can proceed and continue building another great year.
• 15 November – Racing Against Prostate Cancer at Pro Racing, Hastings Spots still available — please come along and support this important cause. We also have a Silent Auction running for Prostate Cancer — check out the link for some amazing items and help us raise vital funds.
• 21 November – Colac Car Show
• 21-22 November – Challenge Bathurst A huge interclub event with members attending from all over Australia.
• 27 November – Twilight Drive from Diamond Creek

Club Updates

Membership remains strong and steady, thank you to everyone who continues to support and promote our club. Merchandise is selling well, check out our summer specials in the store. Our Welfare Team continues to do an amazing job supporting our members.

Jo and Jess have been working hard on the new sponsorship proposal, and if you or any business you know would like to come on board, please contact Jo and she will send through a tailored package.

We are also looking for Hastings‑area members who can assist with pre‑event trailer loading and post‑event pack‑up. Even occasional help would make a huge difference for Jo and me, please reach out if you’re local and able to lend a hand when required.
