On the evening of 22 February, a group of 11 cars met at Ringwood BMW for a twilight drive. We first had the opportunity to check out many different sedans and SUVs in the showroom. The group was then treated to a tour of the dealership by the Sales Manager Shane. This included the servicing facilities for both cars and bikes as well as 3 ½ stories of underground car storage at the rear.

Having completed our radio checks, Peter Williams led us on an interesting drive through Kangaroo Ground, Hurstbridge, St. Andrews and Yarra Glen finishing in Coldstream. The scenery was varied and the system of a car reporting progress of the group from the middle of the pack as well as the last car worked very well. A cool change arrived during the drive to relieve us of the day’s 38C heat. Fortunately there was just a few drops of rain. Having driven some of this course before in dusk conditions, it was interesting to see some our favourite tight and twisty roads through St. Andrews in full daylight.

We then headed to the Coldstream Brewery for dinner where we experienced enormous-sized meals. Having succeeded in the driving challenge, most of us failed being able to finish our plate! Dinner provided a great opportunity to talk about previous driving experiences as well future plans. Thanks again to Peter Williams for organising a great event.
