Join us on a day trip to historic Walhalla
Walhalla is a picturesque, historic goldmining town, nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range on the northern edge of Gippsland.
Key activities in Walhalla are:
- A good historic train ride through the narrow canyon that leads to Walhalla.
- Underground tour of the historic mine
- Easy walk along the old tramway giving great views over the town
- Numerous cafe/coffee shops, historic buildings, bushwalks and plenty to explore
Because the tourist train runs at lunchtime, a hearty breakfast is in order. So we'll meet at the Pancake Parlour in Fountain Gate, Narre Warren, at 8.00am for breakfast.
We'll leave Narre Warren at 9.30am-
so if you prefer to skip the breakfast, arrive by 9.15am in order to leave at 9.30am sharp.
We will enjoy scenic, interesting driving roads taking us to Walhalla around midday.
The tourist train departs Walhalla at 12.45pm for 1.00pm for a one hour trip.
Mine tours (groups of up to 20 only) depart at 1.30pm and 3.00pm for 50 minutes.
We will leave Walhalla later in the afternoon for a convoy drive back to the M1.
