Friday lunch cruise through historic towns north of Melbourne
This cruise takes us to historic towns just north of Melbourne that date back to the early and mid 1800s. These are towns that we all drive past on freeways, saying to ourselves “we must drop into that town sometime to look around”. This is your chance for that look-around!
We will meet at:
Wellington Square shopping centre carpark, 81-89 High Street / Northern Highway (B75), Wallan, at 9.45am for a 10.00am start.
You can arrive early for coffee or breakfast in a café across the road or nearby fast food places.
We’ll have varying amounts of time in Woodend, Kyneton, Lancefield and Kilmore to look around and/or grab some coffee, morning-tea or afternoon snack. The route instructions include some history notes and suggestions of places to visit in each town – historic buildings, riverside walks, botanic gardens, and so on.
Lunch will be in the 150-year-old Lancefield Hotel.
Roads will be scenic rural cruising, interspersed with a few winding sections – nothing too twisty, but enough to be enjoyable and interesting.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU HAVE A UHF RADIO WITH YOU ON ALL OUR DRIVES. WE WILL BE ON CHANNEL 17.
