National Motoring Heritage Day/E30 Racing drive to Phillip Island

  • 15 May 2022
  • 8:30 AM
  • Multiple points Melbourne, Officer and Phillip Island

Registration

  • Mandatory entry ticket will be purchased and distributed at meeting point

Combine two of our favourite activities in one event. Wait, make that 3.

Drive in a progressive convoy to Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, put our cars on display and watch the racing, E30 Racing in particular.

Its National Motoring Heritage Day - a day to get as much of our motoring heritage out and in view as possible. What is heritage? Well, anything really but the older the better. Bring what you've got, older if you have the choice. BMW for preference but who's counting?

Its a Victorian State Championship round with races for E30, Historic Touring cars, Sports Sedans, Formula Ford, Formula Vee, Porsche 944, HQs, Production Sports Cars and more.

Its a car show. We'll put on a car display area alongside the main straight with a great view of the track - you can watch from your car if you like. Pit access is available to us and the canteen will also be open.

The drive will start meeting at the first pick up point at 8:30 am outside Lorbek, 30 Prohasky St, Port Melbourne (Lorbek will be closed, we are just using the car park).

We should depart at about 8:50 am to reach our second pick up point at McDonalds Pakenham By Pass, 65 Princes Fwy, Officer, at about 9:40 am to depart again at 9:50 am  so we reach Phillip Island at 11 am.

Those joining at Phillip Island are asked to join in by the San Remo bridge (it is a drive to get cars on the road) but can join by the circuit gates if absolutely required.

Join the convoy at any point (just indicate which on the registration).

We'll be at Phillip Island in good time for afternoon programme which will include an E30 race after lunch.

Stay and watch some racing and then make your own way home.

We have arranged a discounted entry of $25 per vehicle including all occupants. We will purchase the tickets and distribute at the meeting points.

Drive instructions will be forwarded in the reminder email.

BMWDCM is not responsible for any conditions of entry into any event venues, including COVID safety requirements. Please ensure you check any entry requirements with the relevant venue.
