Now a non-spectator event, so the club event will not go ahead.
Run by the same people who organise the highly popular Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport (VHRR), the Winton Festival of Speed has a similar format and feel. Featuring over 500 cars racing and on show over 2 days, featuring the Just Cars 50kms Historic Touring Car race. Classic Sports Car races, Super Sprints for Group C & A and Tribute Cars, plus Historic Sports Sedans this event captures all the excitement of racing from years gone by plus an excellent display of cars new and old.
The Winton club circuit layout is challenging and provides plenty of overtaking opportunities. Plus the entire course can be viewed from a number of spectator positions, so you will miss none of the action. Pit access is expected to be unrestricted (subject to COVID conditions) so you can mingle with the teams and get close to cars and drivers. The usual selection of food outlets are expected to be there, along with trade stands. With many other clubs participating there will be plenty to do besides the racing.
You are invited to come along and join in the fun. We will be parking in the clubs area, so the cars will be "on display" but this is not a car show as such. Any clean car is acceptable regardless of age or condition. As a reward for including your car in the clubs' area, you and your car will get free entry. Any passengers will, unfortunately, have to buy a ticket on line.
The race programme generally repeats on Saturday and Sunday, and morning and afternoon, so each category gets 4 runs. You can come for just Saturday, just Sunday or both days. And, if you need to, you can join in sometime during the morning to avoid a very early departure from Melbourne.
Early registration is preferred as we will need to advise VHRR of car spots required and get the free entry stickers. A meeting point close to the circuit will be nominated closer to the event where the stickers will be dispensed. Those arriving later will have to phone from outside the gate for a sticker to be brought out. The stickers are good for the entire weekend, so once you have one you can enter at any time. However, any cars not entering with the group may not be able to park with the group, but we will do our best.
For an overnight stay you may like to consider the Advance Motel in Wangaratta. Should you need it they have provision for on site trailer parking. Accommodation in closer Benalla appears to be full booked.

We do recommend all members have the COVIDSafe app downloaded on their phones, while this is not manditory, it is recommended.
